What are the risks
Although teeth whitening treatments are inherently safe, some of the potential complications of this treatment include, but are not limited to tooth sensitivity, gum/lip irritation. In most cases, any side effects are temporary in nature or can be resolved quickly.
Treatment Results
Although most natural teeth can benefit from a teeth whitening treatment, everyone’s teeth are different and results will vary.
Typically, clients will see teeth become 4-8 shades whiter. People with yellowish teeth generally get the best results and if teeth have spots due to tetracycline use (grayish tint) or fluorosis, these will be difficult to whiten.
Also, artificial teeth, caps, crowns, veneers, porcelain, composite, or other restorative materials, will not see dramatic results as teeth whitening only works on natural teeth.
